(KMOV) -- Rates may be going up for MetroLink and Metro bus riders.
The transit agency is weighing three different plans to raise fares. Two of the plans would keep daily fares the same, but weekly, monthly and semester passes would increase.
In the third plan, all fares would rise by five percent.
Metro is holding a series of public meetings over the next week about the proposed fare increases.
The first meeting is Monday from 5-7 pm at East St. Louis City Hall. The second meeting is set for Wednesday, April 18 in the rotunda of St. Louis City Hall from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm.
After hearing from the public, Metro will choose one of the plans. The rate hikes will likely go into effect in July.
