MADISON COUNTY, Illinois – Police have arrested a woman in a wheelchair and a man after they allegedly stole from multiple Walmarts in the Metro East.

Brenda Hunt, 48, and Link Frenz, 47, were both charged with felony retail theft and possession of cocaine.

Deputies said Hunt and Frenz stole laptops from Walmarts in Godfrey and Highland.

Police said after putting out a press release looking for suspects in the theft, they received numerous tips Hunt and Frenz were responsible.

Authorities on Thursday visited their home in Wood River, Illinois and took Hunt and Frenz into custody.

Both defendants were transported to the Madison County Jail on a $30,000 bond.

Authorities searched the suspects’ apartment and found evidence linking Hunt and Frenz to the thefts. Officers said they also found cannabis and cocaine residue during the search.

Authorities said in both incidents the suspects were seen driving to and from the store in a gold-colored Chevrolet Impala.

Hunt and Frenz were also issued misdemeanors for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of cannabis.
