2012 Cardinals Home Opener schedule of events

If you’re heading downtown for the Cardinals’ home opener on Friday, here’s a list of things going on leading up to the game.

10:00 a.m. to 1 p.m.

- Cardinals official Pre-Game Pep Rally - Pre-game pep rally in the Ballpark Village Lot on Clark Street and South Broadway. Band Trixie Delight will perform from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

11:45 a.m.

Stadium gates open: Fans 21 and over with a ticket will get a 2012 Cardinals schedule magnet.

1:30 p.m.

- Pre-game ceremonies begin

- Budweiser Clydesdales make an appearance

- Cardinals Hall-of-Famers will be introduced in a motorcade.

- Tribute to the 2011 World Series Champion Cardinals.

- Former Cardinals will bring in the last four World Series trophies: Mike Shannon (1967), Tommy Herr (1982), David Eckstein, Jim Edmonds (2006) and Tony La Russa, Dave Duncan (2011).

- The 2011 World Series Cardinals will be introduced via motorcade.

- The 2011 World Championship banner will be raised in left field.

- American Bald Eagle flight.

- Color Guard – The U.S. Marine Corps

- A moment of silence to former Cardinals pitcher Bob Forsch

- Shannon Magrane, Season 11 contestant on American Idol, will sing the national anthem.

- U.S. Air Force Flyover

- Ceremonial first pitch.

2:15 p.m.

- Real first pitch
