AT&T launches 4G LTE in St. Louis

ST. LOUIS -- People with AT&T smartphones should  now have quicker Internet access, as the phone company launched 4G LTE in St. Louis on Wednesday.

Thousands of St. Louis-area customers with LTE-capable phones or tablets will now be able to browse the internet, download apps, play games or send and post pictures at faster speeds than ever before.

According to AT&T, LTE technology can deliver Internet at up to 10 times faster than 3G.

“AT&T customers in St. Louis can look forward to even faster mobile Internet speeds very soon, on our leading lineup of smartphones and devices,” said Nancy Garvey, AT&T’s vice president and general manager for the Greater Midwest Region. “We’re excited to bring St. Louis all that 4G LTE has to offer."

Verizon Wireless launched 4G LTE in the St. Louis area more than a year ago.

AT&T offers several LTE-compatible devices, including new AT&T 4G LTE smartphones and tablets, such as the Samsung Galaxy Note, HTC One X, and Pantech Element tablet.
