ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) -- Police on Wednesday found a car with multiple bullet holes in it in south St. Louis and discovered the victim was dropped off at St. Louis University Hospital.
Police said the reported shooting happened near the Imperial Palace on North Grand Boulevard and Montgomery Street around 1:30 a.m. Authorities later discovered a shooting victim had been dropped off at SLU Hospital in south St. Louis. Minutes later, police found a car with 17 bullet holes in it just a few blocks away from the hospital.
Authorities believe the shooting, car and victim are connected.
According to reports, the male victim was driving in the 2200 block of North Grand when numerous shots were fired at his vehicle. Police said the bullet holes in the vehicle indicated the victim may have returned fire. Officials said the bullet holes suggested shots were fired both at and from inside the vehicle.
The victim sustained minor injuries. He was treated for his injuries and walked out of the hospital a couple hours later.
There's no word on any possible motive in the shooting and no suspects have been named.
Police will continue to investigate what prompted the shooting.
