ST. LOUIS (KMOV) -- About 60 family members and supporters gathered Sunday afternoon behind the house in north St. Louis where a teenager was shot and killed by a police officer.
The family of Lavon Peete, 15, said they do not believe the teen threatened an officer before he was shot last week.
Authorities said Peete pointed a sawed-off rifle at a police officer. The seven-year veteran opened fire, killing the teen.
The officer has been placed on administrative leave. County officials will determine whether charges will be filed against him.
