(KMOV) – A Minnesota school is paying $70,000 to a student because of one Facebook post.

In 2011, the sixth grader wrote on her Facebook page that she hated her teacher’s aide.

When the school found out, they demanded that the student give her password so that the school could delete the Facebook post.

The student’s parents claim that demanding the password violated their teen's Constitutional right to privacy.

The district has agreed to pay $70,000 in a settlement.
