(KMOV) – Police are searching for a 63-year-old man accused of killing an ex-girlfriend inside his home in O’Fallon, Mo. Tuesday night.
Terry Culberson was charged Wednesday with first-degree murder and armed criminal action.
Authorities said officers were called for a well-being check to Culberson’s home in the 30 block of Downing around 5:15 p.m. Tuesday.
Upon their arrival, police found 55-year-old Dorothy Hall dead with multiple gunshot wounds. A witness said they saw Culberson drive away from the home just before her body was found.
Police said they learned during an investigation that Culberson had made threats to Hall and her family the day before.
An autopsy determined Hall died from a gunshot wound to the head.
Police said Culberson remains on the loose and should be considered armed and dangerous. Authorities said he is believed to be driving a 2008 Red Ford Fusion with Missouri license plate PE0f9U.
According to court documents, Culberson has prior conviction for assault with intent to kill with malice and has out of state ties.
