(HockeyStL) -- The Blues have stayed healthy through the first seven games this season, but that might have changed in the first period Friday.
After taking a shot to the mask, Jaroslav Halak was slow to stand up and would need to be tended to by the training staff during a whistle. It appeared Halak had a cut on his lower lip.
Brian Elliott, who started the previous two games, replaced Halak and stopped 13 of 14 shots faced against Detroit.
Halak stopped nine of eleven shots faced in 16 minutes of action. He remained on the bench for the rest of the game.
