Two fake officers stop, frisk woman in south St. Louis

A South St. Louis woman contacted News 4 to tell us she had an encounter with two fake police officers.  The 66 year old woman says an African-American male and female stopped her last week near her home.  The officers drove a beige pickup truck with tinted windows and were wearing blue shirts, blue pants and had badges.  The officers asked her what she was doing and then informed her that they were going to frisk her.  The woman we’ll call Kathy says that the officers did not frisk the way she’d seen on TV; instead they solely searched her pockets.  Kathy says thankfully she did not have anything in her pockets.  Then the officers left.

Kathy contacted the St. Louis Police and learned the department does not owe a beige pickup truck with tinted windows and that is not typical behavior for an officer.

A St. Louis Police Spokesperson tells News 4 if you ever question the creditability of an officer ask to see their department issued badge and photo id.
