(KMOV) -- A Ballwin woman and a California man have been arrested on charges of child pornography and statutory sodomy.
On Wednesday, the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney's Office charged Tessa L. Vanvlerah, 20, with one count of first-degree statutory rape, first-degree statutory sodomy, promoting child pornography and at least one other sexual related charge.
Also charged in this case is Kenneth M. Kyle, 46, of San Francisco, California. Kyle has been charged with one count of first-degree statutory rape, first-degree statutory sodomy and promoting child pornography.
Federal authorities contacted St. Louis County police, informing them that Kyle was under investigation for child pornography and may have traveled to St. Louis to contact Vanvlerah. He reportedly met Vanvlerah through the Internet.
The investigation led Immigration Custom Enforcement agents and St. Louis County investigators to Vanvlerah’s in the 200 block of Solon Drive in Ballwin.
Both are being held on a $2 million cash only bond. Vanvlerah is in custody at the St. Louis County Jail and Kyle is in custody in California.
While authorities have not released any other information about what went on in this case, Lt. Colonel Terry Roberds, Commanding Officer, Division of Criminal Investigation, did say that, "The 13-month-old victim was rescued from this horrific situation and placed in the care of the State where she will receive proper medical attention."
