(KMOV) -- Million dollar homes in west St. Louis County sit abandoned in one of the area's more exclusive zip codes. The situation has neighbors and the city of Creve Coeur wondering what's next for two high-end neighborhoods.
Both subdivisions, Enclave Bellerive and Belle Maison both sit along Ladue Road, west of Interstate-270.
Belle Maison fell into foreclosure, and in Enclave Bellerive, only two homes are occupied in an neighborhood slated for 55 homes.
Residents of Creve Coeur are complaining about the half-finished and abandoned properties. At Enclave, the developers want to rezone the land to allow smaller lots. At Belle Maison, the new owners are Delmar Gardens, a company known for building nursing and senior living facilities.
So far, Creve Coeur's planning and zoning commission has said no to smaller lots at Enclave, and at Belle Maison, Delmar Gardens has not announced any official plans. There is no word on whether or not the incomplete mansions will be demolished, and Delmar Gardens said they are looking at all appropriate options, and are sensitive to what the community wants.
