Trio of juniors lead Illini past Kent St.

(KMOV)- After one half of play at Assembly Hall in Champaign Monday night, the Fighting Illini found themselves tied with Kent State. Illinois then flipped a switch in the second half to rattle off 44 points and cruise to a 17 point victory over the Golden Flashes.

Mike Tisdale led the offensive attack for U of I, scoring a team high 17 points on 7 of 9 shooting. Mike Davis had a huge day on the glass, grabbing 16 boards to go with his 16 points. Finally, yet another junior, Demetri McCamey  recorded a double-double as well. McCamey led the Illini offense with 10 assists and 15 points.

Illinois is the top seed in the tournament and will take on Dayton in the next round of the NIT.
