(KMOV) -- Two people fighting over a parking space are in the hospital after the altercation ends in gunfire.
Police say around 8:10 p.m. Thursday night officers were dispatched to the 6300 block of Peurifoy in reference to a shooting. When officers arrived, they learned one person had been shot and that the suspect was still in the area.
Officers were directed to the 8000 block of Aline and found a blood trail leading to the rear of a residence. Officers found one person lying on the ground in the rear of the residence. The person was unable to speak and had no identification. Police searched the area and found a hand gun.
Berkeley Fire Department and Christian EMS units responded to the scene and treated both suspect/victims for their injuries. Both subjects were transported to an area hospital for further treatment.
Police determined that both people were shot twice. Further invesitgation revealed both parties were involved in an altercation concerning a parking space. The situation escalated and resulted in gunfire. Both parties are familiar with eachother and police say it appears to be an isolated incidenIt.
