(KMOV)-- Traffic is moving on Highway 141 after it was shut down when a man crashed into a pole in Jefferson County.

This happened around 3:30 p.m. Thursday near a strip mall at Highway 141 and Fielder.

Auhtorities said the driver, a 20-year-old male crashed his car into a pole, hit a gas line and then traveled into a building.  The pole crashed onto the roof of a nearby building. The damage lead to a gas leak that caused a two alarm fire and the evacuation of a strip mall.

Traffic was shutdown in both directions on Highway 141.  The highway reopend around 6 p.m. Thursday afternoon.

Police said the driver had a medical condition and was determined to be the cause of the accident.

The driver sustained minor injuries and is expected to recover.
