The St. Louis Rams have made two moves in the past 24 hours that are making their offensive line intriguing in 2010.
The Rams formally announced on Tuesday that they signed free agent center/guard Hank Fraley. The Rams also re-signed guard Mark Setterstrom according to Jim Thomas of the Post-Dispatch. These two moves seem to make the Rams much stronger up the middle of the offensive line for 2010.
The signing of Fraley is a move that will make the competition for the right guard position in 2010 very interesting. As a 10 year player in the league he provides not only more depth, but more experience for the Rams.
I have been a fan of Fraley's since his entering the league and think this is a terrific signing, even if the signing reeks of the I played for Shurmur and Spagnuolo somewhere stench. Fraley started his career with the Eagles and worked under Shurmur.
