(KMOV) -- It might sound impossible to put contact lenses on an infant, but doctors say it's a way to save the child's sight.
Three-year-old Charlotte Fisherman has worn a contact lens on her left eye since she was five weeks old. Doctors say if vision is blurred in the first year of a child's life, there's a possibility vision won't ever develop.
In Los Angeles, doctors are placing contacts in children as young as three weeks old. Affected children might still have to wear glasses or contacts for the rest of their lives.
