(KMOV) -- A Granite City, Ill. man has been charged with two felony counts of aggravated battery to a child.
On Friday, the Madison County's Sheriff's office was notified of an elementary school-aged child who came to school with injuries possibly related to abuse.
A detective with the Sheriff's office met with school officials and a member of the Department of Children and Family Services at the elementary school. The child had injuries on his body and neck consistent with being choked and grabbed.
The Sheriff's office said the investigation led detectives to take 24-year-old Matthew Alan-Scott Boone into custody at his home on Friday. Boone was taken to the Madison County Jail, and is being held on $250,000 bond.
