(KMOV) -- A car crashed through a vacant building in Pacific and the driver told police the accelerator got stuck.
The car went all the way through a vacant building near the Dollar General store in Pacific, Missouri. It smashed through a brick wall on one side and made its way out the other side before the engine died. The building was vacant and the driver and passenger received minor bruises.
One witness said the 20-year-old driver told police that he was about 75 feet from the building when he started the car and it took off.
Investigators will be looking into the accident and inspecting the car along with the insurance company. The driver told police his Chevrolet Cobalt recently had a new engine installed and may have led to the sudden acceleration.
