Just how extensive the fighting problem may be at U City High School may depend on who you talk to about it.
Some students say it happens several times a week, district officials say it's not as bad as people would have us believe, and the teachers are not saying anything publicly.
In fact we've been told they could lose their jobs if they openly spoke about the fighting situation. We've also been told they took a no confidence vote in the superintendent and principal in keeping the school safe. The district, for the record, says there was no vote.
What was interesting was just how big the police presence was during dismissal. One homeowner nearby says it's not uncommon for school fights to break out on front lawns as kids walk home.
