EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (AP) -- Police say an East St. Louis man died after he dove out a window while officers were attempting to serve him with a warrant.
Illinois State Police agents from the Tactical Response Team and officers from the Metropolitan Enforcement Group of Southwestern Illinois attempted to serve the warrant Friday morning. They say that to escape them, the suspect dove out of a first-floor window, injuring himself severely.
The man was transported to Kenneth Hall Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The man was not identified Friday night, and police did not give details about the nature of the warrant.
