Charges filed against teens involved in police chase

(KMOV) -- Prosecutors have charged two teens who were involved in a high speed chase and shooting.

?

A 17-year-old has charged with unlawful use of a weapon.

?

He was shot by multiple times by police after the chase and is now out of the hospital.

?

An 18-year-old is also charged with tampering with a vehicle and resisting arrest.

?

Police say they originally began following the vehicle because it was involved in a carjacking.

They used stop sticks to blow out the tires of the car that had been reported carjacked in St. Louis County.

?

Two officers shot the 17 year-old in the foot, leg and groin when they said they saw a gun in his hands.

?

Another teenager broke a rib as he tried to escape. A police dog bit a third teen.

A fourth teenager stayed in the car; he was not hurt. All teens are out of the hospital and in custody.

Both officers involved in the shooting are on administrative leave, which is a standard procedure.
