Deer hunters may donate their kills

With deer hunting season under way, hunters are reminded they can help families in need by donating their kills.

The Illinois Sportsmen Against Hunger (ISAH) program is once again offering hunters the opportunity to give their (whole) deer to meat processors so the venison can be donated to food banks, food pantries and charitable organizations throughout Illinois.

Since 1994, the ISAH program has coordinated the donation of more than 573,000 pounds of venison and provided nearly 2.3 million meals for families and individuals in need.
