ST. LOUIS (AP) -- Relatives of a man found dead in Forest Park said he had been a patient at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and should not have been released without the family being informed.
Fifty-one-year-old Alandrow Harrell became disoriented on Monday, possibly after falling. His mother, Wilma Harrell, tells the St. Louis Post-Dispatch she has cared for him since he cracked his skull when he fell off a truck in the 1980s while helping a friend move.
She said she called an ambulance Monday, which took him to Barnes-Jewish. A hospital spokeswoman confirmed that Harrell left Tuesday evening but did not say whether he checked out or simply left.
His body was found Thursday morning in nearby Forest Park. Foul play is not suspected.
