1 Killed, 5 injured in Jefferson Co. accident

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV) -- One person was killed and five others were injured Sunday morning in a two-car accident in Jefferson County, the state highway patrol said.

Authorities said Benjamin T. Warf, 21, of Sikeston, was killed when the car he was driving was struck by a 2008 Dodge Caliber at the intersection of U.S. Route 67 and Meyer Road.

The patrol said Warf was turning left from Meyer Road onto northbound U.S. Route 67 when his 1999 Honda Civic was hit around 8:40 a.m.

A passenger in Warf's car -- 19-year-old Jessica L. Holloway of Cape Girardeau -- was seriously injured.

The driver of the Dodge Caliber -- Kayla N. Harrison, 20, of Festus -- and three passengers -- Kendra M. Harrison, 17, of Festus; Michael J. Rogers, 16, of De Soto; and Nicholas L. Rogers, 14, of De Soto -- suffered moderate injuries.

Everyone involved in the accident was taken by ambulance to Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Crystal City. Warf was pronounced dead at 9:33 a.m.

Warf's vehicle was totaled in the accident; the other vehicle suffered extensive damage.
