ST. LOUIS (AP) -- St. Louis police have arrested a suspect in the shooting death of a woman outside of a popular diner near downtown.
Deangleo Tate was arrested and charged Thursday with murder and armed criminal action, and is being held on $1 million cash bond. The 26-year-old was wanted in the shooting death of 30-year-old Shevette Chambers.
Police say Chambers was eating breakfast with Tate and friends in the early morning hours of Aug. 16 at the Eat Rite Diner.
As the group left, another woman arrived at the parking lot and an argument began. Police say Chambers said something to the suspect, who pulled out a gun and shot her several times.
Chambers was shot in the face, chest, abdomen and thigh.
Tate faces similar charges in a May 2008 killing.
