Sossity Laleman was awarded $150,000 on Wednesday for emotional damage that her then-4-year-old son suffered three years ago after a 59-year-old old day care worker stomped on his head at the Carrousel Too Day Care.

Jurors returned with the verdict after deliberating for about an hour. Afterward, they filed out of Circuit Judge Dave Hylla's courtroom and spoke for several minutes with Sossity Laleman and her husband, Joel. When the jurors dispersed, the couple spoke with reporters.
