St. Louis County offers Web crime map

ST. LOUIS (AP) -- St. Louis County Police have introduced a new Web browser that allows residents find out where crime has occurred in their neighborhood.

Details of the department's Crime Mapping System were announced by Police Chief Timothy Fitch on Thursday. The system covers both the incorporated towns and unincorporated areas of Missouri's largest county.

Residents can search by crime type, address or date.

The Web page is available at www.stlouisco.com/police.
