(KMOV) -- Members of a local church are mourning two women killed in an accident.
Police say Anner Daniels, 78, and Amy McKenney, 94, died on Tuesday when a pick-up truck pulled in front of the church van they were riding in. It happened around 2:30 p.m. on Etzel and Skinker near Wellston.
Seven other senior citizens in the van were injured.
The victims are members of the New Cote Brilliante Church of God in northwest St. Louis.
According to police, the church van was headed north on Skinker and the driver of a red pick-up truck was headed south on Skinker. Witnesses say the driver of the pick-up tried to make a left turn onto Etzell, but failed to yield and hit the church van sending it into an electrical pole. The pick-up reportedly continued driving and hit an SUV that was waiting at a stoplight on Etzell.
The 59-year-old man who was driving the pick-up was injured in the crash and is in stable condition.
Police say that three men who were in the SUV at the time of the crash were injured. They are all in stable condition.
The investigation into this accident is ongoing.
