Police: Man shot while driving was not a random act

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV) -- Police are looking for a suspect following a shooting in North St. Louis that left an 18 yo driver dead.

It happened at 4:30 p.m. Saturday evening at Clarence and Lee in North St. Louis.

The victim, Craig Nichols of the 3600 Block of Cote Brilliant, was driving his vehicle when he was shot by a gunman in another car. Nichols managed to drive several blocks before he struck a utility pole.

When police arrived, Nichols was unresponsive. He was later pronounced dead at a local hospital. He was 18-years-old.

Police believe they know who the shooter is and they say this shooting was not a random act.
