ALHAMBRA - The director of Hitz Memorial Home took exception Thursday to what she said are published implications that the home's operators are somehow at fault in the alleged aggravated assault of one of the residents of its independent living facility.
Some people are questioning why a hammer was left lying around in a "nursing home," she said.
Susan Tudor said published reports that former resident James Senaldi, 79, retrieved a hammer from a construction site within the facility are untrue. Senaldi was charged Wednesday in Madison County Circuit Court after allegedly using the hammer to hit his roommate at the independent living facility four times Tuesday.
