(KMOV) -- Maplewood-Richmond Heights school officials say they are concerned after a student walking home from school was approached, then briefly chased by a stranger.
The incident happened Wednesday afternoon. The man is described only as being in his mid to late 30’s, and reportedly asked the student for money.
There have been 3 incidents since September involving students being approached by strangers in Maplewood.
In November, a high school-aged girl was approached by a man in a truck. On December 7th, a parent filed a police report about a stranger in a car trying to talk to her high school-aged daughter. Then on December 15th, a high school junior boy was approached by a man asking for money. The boy ran away.
Maplewood police do not believe the incidents are connected based upon the suspects' descriptions. The department has alerted neighboring police departments.
