Children's dance teacher charged with statutory rape at Webster Groves studio

(KMOV)-- A St. Louis dance teacher has been arrested for statutory rape.

Torris Caston, 64, of the 3100 block of St. Vincent in St. Louis, is a director at Caston Ballet Studio, which was located in Webster Groves at the time of the alleged incident.
Authorities say the offense occurred at the dance school in February of 2005 against a then 16-year-old girl.
The unidentified victim came forward in June of this year.
Police say it is uncommon for a victim to come forward after so long, but it does happen and must be taken seriously.
Caston is one of the school’s founders and has also worked as an instructor for St. Louis City schools, most recently at McKinley Classical Leadership Academy.
Officials are looking for other possible victims.
Police arrested Caston on Thursday, and he is being held on a $75,000 bond.
The investigation is ongoing.
