(KMOV) -- Hundreds of drivers remain stuck on Interstate 44 near Gray Summit and Highway 67 near Festus after ice-related crashes Wednesday night.
Tom Bauer of Farmington says he's been sitting on Highway 67 southbound since 8:30 p.m. Wednesday night. Southbound lanes are closed near Bonne Terre. He's frustrated with MoDOT and emergency officials for not checking on those stuck. He's also wondering why traffic is not being diverted to northbound lanes, which are open and salted.
Corey Martin is in the same situation on Interstate 44 near Gray Summit. He's been stuck since last night as well. He says many drivers are out of their cars talking and asking if anyone has water.
If you're headed out this morning, interstates and highways are wet, but have some icy spots. Side streets, parking lots and sidewalks are much worse. Be very careful and allow extra time to get where you are going.
