(KMOV) – A group of Pattonville High School students who call themselves “The Dirty Dogs” are being investigated by police because authorities say they suspect the group participated in sexual activity with students possibly as young as 15.

Police say the boys are a loosely knit group who apparently say they brought girls to a vacant house to engage in sexual activity.

Officials are not calling the group a gang, but it is possible that the sexual activity was either an initiation or just part of a membership.

It is not clear if the sexual activity was consensual or if it was coerced, police say. They also say they have been interviewing and talking with students from 15 to 18 years of age. However, they are not sure yet how many students may be involved.

Since the police investigation began on November 11, there have been no arrests or charges. But police say they are close to wrapping up the investigation.

In a statement, the Pattonville School District says it is cooperating with police, and is dealing with this according to its discipline policy.
