(KMOV)-- Police are investigating at a yard they believe is connected to a woman whose remains were found in East Alton in early November.
Investigators are using heaters to thaw the snow and see what kind of evidence they may be able to uncover. They believe, at some point prior to her death, Crystal Terpening was at the residence. The 26-year-old's remains were discovered just a few blocks away.
She had been missing since mid-October until a construction crew found her bones while working to clear some land.
Neighbors told News 4 that police have been at this new scene since before daybreak. They said officers were also here last night around 9 p.m. looking to question more people about Crystal's disappearance and death.
A family member of the woman who owns the property said two men he knows have been picked up for questioning. One man lives in East Alton and the other, his brother, is from Joplin.
The Major Case Squad would not confirm that. At this point, they're still ferreting out leads and looking for anyone who may know what Crystal was doing and who she was with in the days leading up to her death.
