(KMOV) -- The search for Jesus, Mary and Joseph statues stolen from a south St. Louis christian school is over.
Hope Lutheran School informed KMOV.com Friday it received a phone call from another South St. Louis Church, Holy Cross Lutheran, saying that the missing nativity figures were left on its doorstep this morning.
The statues were wrapped in a flannel blanket, duct taped together, with a note saying to return them to Hope Lutheran School.
After last week's theft, George Hutchings, also known as "The Shoeman," of Ballwin donated $200 to cover the costs of replacing the statues. Those statues were completed and ready to be installed this weekend.
