STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) -- The Missouri women's volleyball team faces Duke on Friday in the third round of the NCAA tournament with a possible match against three-time defending champion Penn State awaiting the victor.
Missouri upset fifth-seeded Northern Iowa on the Panthers' home court and then Northwestern in the tournament's first and second rounds. The winner of Friday's late-afternoon match in State College, Pa., will go on to face either Oklahoma or Penn State.
The Nittany Lions have won a record 92 straight home matches. Penn State also had a 109-match winning streak before losing to Stanford earlier this season.
Missouri is in the regional semifinals for only the second time in school history. The Tigers appeared in eight straight NCAA tournaments before ending a two-year absence this season.
