Centreville man sentenced for firearm offense

(KMOV)-- An Illinois man has been sentenced to jail time after pleading guilty of being a felon in possession of a firearm in September.

Demarkis Hamblin, 34, of Centreville was sentenced by the United States Attorney for the Southern District of Illinois to 6 years and 5 months in jail.

In September, Hamblin had pleaded guilty to one count indictment charging him with being a felon in possession of a firearm.

The violation took place in March of 2010 in St. Clair County, Illinois.
