RANSOM, Ill. (AP) -- LaSalle County authorities plan to resume searching this morning for a woman who might have survived a fatal crash that killed her husband.
Sheriff Thomas Templeton says the search for 40-year-old Tanya M. Shannon of Ransom will resume at 9 a.m.
Shannon was believed to be riding with her husband when their car crashed about six miles from their home after they left a holiday party early Sunday morning.
A deputy came across the one-vehicle wreck around 1:45 a.m. and found 41-year-old Dale E. Shannon dead behind the wheel. Templeton says there were footprints in the snow and one of Tanya Shannon's slippers was by the road.
She is described as 5-foot-2, 125-pounds, with shoulder-length strawberry blonde hair and green eyes. She was last seen wearing a red dress and a gray hooded jacket.
