(KMOV) – Starting January 2, 2011, Lambert-St. Louis International Airport will be entirely smoke-free.
St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay announced that the smoking lounges will close on that date as well.
Smoking will still be allowed outside the terminals, but only in a few places.
The airport is already posting signs alerting passengers about the change in policy.
According to the Centers for Disease Control, 22 of America’s 29 largest airports are not smoke free.
