(KMOV) -- Seventeen-year-old Sammie Boldwyn is in critical condition after she was hit by a car while acting as a "flag girl" for a drag race just north of downtown. Two teens were charged in the hit-and-run incident.

Trenton Pinckard and William Mack Sapp, both 19, were charged with leaving the scene of an accident. Sapp was also charged with second degree assault.

The accident happened around 10 p.m. Sunday in the 1400 block of Collins in St. Louis.

Police say both men struck Boldwyn, who is a senior at Hazelwood West High School in north St. Louis County.

Both vehicles fled the scene after the accident.

The first vehicle was described as a Grey Mitsubishi Eclipse with the rear bumper missing, driven by a white male with a goatee wearing a dark baseball cap and a white female passenger with blonde hair.

The truck is described as a black lifted Chevrolet truck, with large chrome wheels, Illinois plates, and tinted windows. It was occupied by two white males.

The area north of Laclede’s Landing is notorious for street racing on Sunday nights. Hundreds of cars usually attend, mainly people in their teens and early 20s.
