(KMOV)-- A man has been charged after a police chase ended in a crash in St. Louis
Jamel Hopkins, 20, was charged with First Degree Robbery and Armed Criminal Action.
Authorities responded to the 12,400 block of Powercourt Drive Friday afternoon to a call of an armed robbery.
The victim stated that the two suspects approached him on the parking lot and robbed him. One suspect was holding a handgun.
The suspects drove away in a burgundy colored vehicle. The victim was not injured.
An officer heard the broadcast of the incident and spotted the vehicle on eastbound Interstate 64/40 near 270. The officer pursued the vehicle until the suspects exited on 14th street in St. Louis and crashed.
Neither suspect was injured. Both suspects have been taken into custody and a handgun was recovered.
One of the suspects is a juvenile (unknown age) and will remain in the custody of St. Louis City per Missouri Juvenile Law. Hopkins is currently held on a $75,000 bond.
The vehicle that the suspect's occupied was reported as stolen.
