CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (AP) -- Illinois coach Ron Zook says the Fresno State team Illinois will face Friday is the same overachieving group that plays anyone, anywhere, any time.
Last year, the Bulldogs played Illinois in Champaign and won on a bizarre two-point conversion with offensive lineman Devan Cunningham falling into the end zone with the ball. It capped an awful 3-9 Illinois season.
On Friday, Illinois (6-5, 4-4 Big Ten) will be playing for a winning season. Last year is forgotten, right?
Tailback Mikel Leshoure says the Illini would like to pay the Bulldogs (7-4, 5-3 WAC) back for the loss.
Fresno coach Pat Hill has nothing but praise for the Illini and their turnaround. He compares them favorably to another Bulldog opponent, No. 9 Boise State.
