Charter changes mean cable customers may need to re-scan channels

(KMOV.com)  -- If you are a Charter Cable customer and have noticed some of your local channels have been disappearing, you are not alone.

The cable company is in the process of making changes to its facilities.  As a result, customers without set-top boxes will need to rescan their channels or they could temporarily lose some of their local stations.

Charter tells us work in St. Charles County starts Friday with St. Louis city and county starting Monday.  If you live in Illinois, that work actually started back on October 20th.

So if you run your cable directly out of the wall and into your TV, you will want to rescan your channels if you notice that you have stations and HD channels missing.

Charter customers with the set-top cable box are not affected.
