(KMOV) -- News 4 is learning more about Nathan Fortner, the gunman in the mass shooting in Bonne Terre on Tuesday.

Fortner, 25, has a number of criminal charges and convictions in his past, including burglary and assault.

Fortner was also facing a rape charge. That case was out of Bismarck, Missouri and did not make it to trial.

Police tell News 4 that one of the victims found on Tuesday was Danielle Bement. Bement had a child with Fortner.

On November 29, Bement reported a sexual assault involving Fornter to police. That case was still under investigation.

According to the Missouri Department of Corrections, Fortner was serving five years probation for burglary.
