(KMOV) -- A tractor-trailer driver got the shock of his life while driving through north St. Louis when the street swallowed his truck.
The incident happened at 11th and Salisbury, not far from the McKinley Bridge around 7:15 Wednesday morning.
The pavement beneath driver Jim Dickerson's truck gave way, causing the back wheels to sink. Dickerson was not injured, but the truck had to be pulled from the hole.
Authorities are taking a closer look at the area where the incident happened, trying to determine exactly what caused the street collapse.
