After losing to No. 25 Michigan 10 days ago in Ann Arbor, the Fighting Illini (15-2, 3-1 Big Ten) found revenge at the Assembly Hall with a 66-51 victory over the Wolverines Wednesday.
Michigan led 31-30 at halftime, but the Illini outscored the Wolverines 35-20 in the second half.
Illinois took control of the game with 13 minutes remaining in the second half. Ahead 42-41, the Illini scored eight unanswered points and pulled ahead 50-41. Michigan could not get any closer.
Mike Tisdale led all scorers with 24 points for Illinois and Demetri McCamey added 17. Trent Meacham scored 11 points.
Manny Harris scored 20 points for the Wolverines.
The Illini travel to East Lansing on Jan. 17 to face Michigan State and return home Jan. 20 and 24 to face Ohio State and Wisconsin.
