CHAMPAIGN, IL. -- Illinois juniorcornerback Vonte Davis will enter the 2009 NFL Draft despite having one more year of college eligibility.
Davis was named to the First-Team All-Big Ten in both 2007 and 2008, and in 2008 was named Third-Team All-American by Rivals.com and Fourth-Team All-American by Phil Steele.
The previous two seasons, he was a semifinalist for the Jim Thorpe Award.
Davis started all 36 games the last three seasons and tallied 206 total tackles for the Fighting Illini. Davis picked off two passes in 2008 and added four more as a sophomore in 2007.
