(KMOV.com) -- Police in Illinois will be stepping up patrols as part of a safe driving campaign starting Friday night.
A Caseyville police officer told News 4, officers will be looking for seat belt violations, speeding violations and anything indicating drunk driving.
Police say more off-duty officers will be called in, especially on the weekends, to assist with the extra enforcement.
More than 200 police departments in Illinois will be taking part in the campaign.
Funding for the safe driving campaign will come from a grant provided by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
The safe driving campaign is scheduled to end after Memorial Day.
